FYP PANEL POSTERS

Hi guys, we have received notifications about the three panels posters on the 10th January, that are going to be done by the 17th January. Thus, the team have met up for their splitting of work. Mandy was doing the first panel poster, Sharon was doing the second panel poster whereas Geraldine was doing the third panel poster and lastly, Li Jun started on the initial part of the FYP team report.

After the splitting of the tasks, we are asked to go back and draft out a poster and if possible, we will ask the other teammates for their feedback. The style that we are looking for in all the three posters are that we are going to include "polka dots". This is to identify all the three posters of similar styles that belonged to us.

Our next meeting will be on the 16th January, to consolidate all the three posters and to amend whatever that is needed to submit on the 17th. We also arranged a meeting with our adviser, Joseph Tan, to vet through our posters on the 16th.

EXECUTION FOR FYP TRAILER

The three girls meet up earlier for the execution of the trailer as Sharon were still having her internship. They meet up at about 11am in the morning and start borrowing of equipments to film the trailer; Panasonic AVCHD camcorder and tripod. At about 2pm, we start off with taking time lapse of the team discussion for about 20 minutes. Our idea is to take at least 20 minutes of the time lapse and continue to fast forward the clip.

After taking the time lapse, we continued on to taking a portrait shot of the individuals in the team. Aftermath, we piece the clips together and used a bubble to illustrate the conversation that we are having, continued by the time lapse of team discussion.

We've completed editing about 5pm.

TRAILER FOR FYP

Hi guys, we are back again! We are informed that we got to complete our 30 seconds trailer by 6 January to determine if we are suitable for the FYP showcase. Thus, we have to gather all the information and discuss. The girls meet up on Wednesday, 4 January, to discuss on the ideas of making this trailer. We meet up on 12 noon and start discussing after lunch. After much discussions, we have finally decided on one idea where we will start with the "The journey of the four girls..." then we will have the four girls appearing on the screen. There will be a conversation between us which appears to be like

  • Geraldine: "Hey! What are we going to do for FYP?"
  • Sharon: "Faci say Problem-based learning system leh."
  • Li Jun: "HUH!?!! PBL?!? SO BORING!"
  • Mandy: "SIAN"
Then the text "The journey begins..." start appearing. Next there will be a time lapse of the four girls discussing about FYP in the school library. Then zoom in to PBL on the paper that we have been discussing it earlier on. Next will be the text "The Result...?"

The idea is to show that the four girls are busy brainstorming about the very first video that we are going to show on PBL. Thus, we will then start on the execution on the next day!

Stay tuned!

MEMBERS' COMMENTS

It's time for the members' comments during the period of FYP.

SHARON:
Overall, I felt that it was totally a different experience for all of us in the team. As not all of us were very knowledgable in the area of production, we ran into some problems here and there. This might causes some of the delays in the process. But, we still managed to overcome it without any major problems.

Basically, of all the videos, I prefer the spoof! We had a lot of fun filming the whole process and the editing part was awesome. We could add in fun effects/ NGs to make the whole video entertaining.

That was the whole purpose of making a spoof! The CED staff and Glen were very co-operative, the process of teaching them the dance steps and having them listening to our cues. I believed my team members would have agreed with me on this! Not to forget to mention about the teaser and full video, we put in out utmost efforts and tried to edit it using limited effects. We're glad that we are still able to finish all the three videos, despite some errors occurring!

PANG LI JUN:
For these 3 videos, I must say that all of us have put in a lot of effort for it. All of us stayed back turned by turned due to our different classes for the edits. We even came back to school during the holidays for our FYP. I believe that these 3 videos have served its purposes for the teaser, the full video as well as the spoof. Although the video may have some mistakes in it, we have really tired our best for each of them.

As for my teammates, I feel very happy to work with them. Although there are times when our opinions collide, we still managed to settle and talked it out peacefully. And I think that everyone of us have did our part every well that made us be on pace with the deadlines given to us.

GERALDINE GOH:
I feel that these 3 videos have helped me to explore more about Premier Pro. And that these 3 videos are able to show the potential in us.

It's interesting working as a team with people of different personality. Through this project, we definitely get to know watch other more. And also see the different talent that one posses. Overall, it's a great experience and it's an enjoyable process!

MANDY TAN:
Despite all the challengers we face during the 6 months, i enjoyed the process and the knowledge that i learn from my teammates and our clients. For every video we do, i learn different things. i personally like the teaser effect and the process as it is the first video we are working on and it allow us to experience how to do a video properly. this allow us to make it more easier when it comes to doing the 2nd and 3rd video as we know what is the clients' expectations. I enjoy working with the CED staff as they teach and guide us when we have difficulties. in my opinion, the 3rd video is the hardest to do as we need to plan from the scripts to the shooting area to editing. we need to edit quite a lot of time to achieve our ideal result. without the help from CED staff, i believe it will make it harder for us. Overall, i have learn and experience filming and editing technique and i believe with more time given, we will do a better videos for our school.

Hey Foursome,

Our full video is finally approved by the clients. I've seen the video broadcasting at RP One Stop Centre and weeks after, our team mate, Geraldine have also witnessed the video being broadcasted in the school library. Therefore, we would like to thank all the staffs that are involved in our FYP.

A big thank you to all CED staffs who are willingly to help out in the Party Rock Anthem Spoof, our clients - Leng Li, Erika, Samson and all. We would also like to thanks David Cheng for his greatest help in allowing us to improve our techniques and our videos. Lastly, we appreciated Glenn for making time off for allowing us to film him dancing with the other staffs in CED and the Full video where he have to be the narrator!

Our FYP team would only left with reports to be done. Thank you, Foursome; for all the wonderful moments we had in the past 6 months!
